What's involved in obtaining membership?
In answering that, we need to do a bit of a FAQ
- Who is eligible for Alpha membership?
Anyone afab who does not idenitfy with that label, gender or presentation wise. This club is centering transmasculine people and that of course includes non binary people. We use afab or masculine gender outlaws to mean that you are outside your assigned genders rules and boundaries. You identify with gender, presentation, and attraction as you see fit.
- What age is a good one for pledging/membership?
We admit anyone 18+. The only thing we urge new members to think about is their ability and willingness to devote time to irl interaction not only with club members, but the leather community.
Younger applicants may want to consider are they ready to be active in the kink and leather community.
- What is being a cub(pledge) like?
The path to alpha is unique for every cub. In applying you understand that while not like any other leather club, this one still has traditions, protocol and hierarchy, and as a cub you are required to learn about and follow the traditions, protocol and history of La Garou.
Pledge periods usually are a year or longer, during which time the cub will familarize themselves with local community and trans leather history. They will hopefully form bonds of camradarie with like minded folks and become visible in a postive way for trans leather, along with performing service, both to the community and the club directly, the former being accomplished in a few ways, such as fostering safe space at non trans centered events, and supporting trans leather causes/events/business.
Any applicant is required to attend campOUT (our club's national meeting), once to announce your interest in pledging, and again after your pledge period is complete to be inducted into the club formally.
During your pledge period you will be required to do a project, one that benefits the club in some way. It will be unique to you and discussed in detail with your assigned cubmaster. In addition you are required to do one fundraiser for the club during your cub period.
I've done my pledge,
now what?
After your cubmaster has deemed your pledge complete, you will return to the national meeting to recieve your patch and be inducted as a full member.
